Hey guys, took this bird on 4-22-03 at 2:40. Got set up with my blind and everything else at 2:00. Waited 5 minutes and began to hit the slate. First nothing happened, did it again and i heard some putting, look out the windo and seen a hen about 5 yards from the blind. She walked towards my decoys and started feeding around them. I hit the slate a few more times and heard a gobble about 100 yards away. LIttle did i know this bird was closing distance fast!!! I did not have my bow ready or anything. I seen the tom come up over the hill in full strut!! He spotted my decoys and headed towards them. Once he spotted the jake with the 2 decoys and the wild hen he came charging looking for a fight. Came in 10 yards and took him.Thanks Double Bull Blinds!!!
all within 40 minutes!!! I was pumped. the turkey was massive!! 9 inch beard with 1 inch spurs Did not have a scale but i would guess to be very 25+
