I don't mow my clover plots for a couple reasons. The does have their fawns bedded in them. The deer seem way more comfortable using the plots in the daytime. The chicory bolts and the deer will actually eat the top [bolt] before they eat the leave on chicory. I use to mow my clover all the time but then the deer only used at night time and also hit a fawn once when cutting. I have found that a few weeds in clover plot don't bother the deer at all. Also by leaving the clover and chicory go to seed the plot re-seeds itself and the plot seems to last longer with less grass than when I mowed it a couple of times a year.
