I've been hunting a small funnel this year, 7 different bucks have been using it & it has been great until the rut started. I have tried 3 different brands of estrous urine, grunts, rattling & nothing will stop these guys. They aren't even using trails anymore, nose to the ground & as fast as they can. I bet I could stand in front of them & they wouldn't even notice me. I've seen them at all times of the day on the hillside in the middle of nowhere w/ their nose stuck to the ground, seen them bedded w/ does in a wide open terrace in the middle of the day. The bucks have slowly stopped traveling through the funnel. Of the 7, there are only 3 that I've seen more than once during the rut. The big guy is long gone, he's the only one I've even considered shooting, or a big doe. How much longer until the deer start using the normal trails again?
