Went out this morning, as it may be my last to Turkey hunt this year.
Had two different toms shy away from my setup (with decoys) early on. Just before 8am I had a Jake come in but would not commit to the decoys. It didn't take me to long to decide to try and take him with my bow, the shot distance was a little farther than the norm but I hit him perfect and he went down within 10 yards.
On my way out I found a couple pounds of mushrooms on the trail and to top things off I gained permission from the landowner to hunt his property (250 acres and prime for deer) this fall.
All in all it was a pretty good morning. Sorry no pictures - I was once again running late for work. I'll try to get some tonight.
