How long should I wait to check on my trail cameras to catch the mature bucks that are on edge?

As long as you can. 2 - 3 weeks atleast.
Everyone has their way of checking cams and they will all work. What I found works best for me is wait as long as you can, go in scent free, and find the quickest way in and out.
I usually wear a pair of rubber boots and put on rain pants over my clothes de scent down the best I can.
If your cams don't last long on batteries try and get your cam on an external bat and leave them out for a month if you can stand it. Hide them well also.
