Thought you might want to see this one! I got this information 2nd
hand
so hopefully the details are correct. It was shot during bow season
in late Nov., 4 miles East of Peosta. This guy new he hit it and could
not
find it. He located it during the 2nd day of Shotgun season Dead! He
tagged it with his bow tag as that is how it was killed. He has it mounted
already and the DNR came last week and put a Freeze tag on it. (I guess
this
means he can't do anything with the mount untill they decide what they are
going to do.) When he tagged the deer with his bow tag he dated it for
Dec.
8th. Bow season was not open at this time. They say he has a good chance
of losing it. Now that would suck! They say there is another running out
in the same area still that is just as large. Rumor has it this one scored
286 points. Look at the size of the base and even the skull. The deers
head had to be huge. We might get to see this one at the Iowa Deer classic
in the DNR's booth under confiscated deer. Cabela's has offered to rent
the
head for one year at $3,000/month.
