I need a deer heart

Critter

Life Member
For a friends science class. If anyone around the Linn County area happens to shoot a buck or doe and doesn't mind giving up the heart I'd appreciate it. Just throw it in the freezer and give me a pm, I'll come and get it from ya. Thanks

I know a lot of people that eat the heart. Not me though. I don't think I am tough enough or hungry enough to do that.

I have eaten heart before. It isn't to bad, but kinda tough. I sure would take the time to make it myself though.

The heart is tough but if you boil it for an hour and then slice it about 1/4" thick. I then dip in egg and flour and fry it until golden brown, Usually get about 7 or 8 slices from a heart and it is very good. I'm sorry I dont have one to donate to you. We ate my sons deers heart last night. Yummy!!!

I will have the freezer bag ready if I score again in the next few days, I can probably go get one from the woods from the deer I shot last night, but it will probably be drying and nasty by now.

Tough? Haven't encountered a tough one yet. Usually just through it in the oven the slice it, or even slice it then and fry it up. Poor mans roast beef if you ask me. I just picked up a salvage last night, if the wife will let me give it away I will send you a PM. I'm about 45 mins East of yah.
