Thought you guys would enjoy this post, interesting angle--was the buck on a doe mission, or had he shifted 3 miles to a fall core area from the plot where he was spotted for 2 summers?

I just read this last night. Helluva buck! I'd say he was shot in his core fall area, seems to me that where they summer has little to do with where they live after the velvet disappears.

I'd say 3 miles is likely a drop in the bucket for how far they can and will travel in November. I picked up some sheds in 07 that were 4 miles from where the buck got caught by my trail cam in mid Novemeber. Before that, the only time I think I saw him was where he shed his antlers. That's why I like early season hunting so much, I feel I'm more liable to kill a particular buck I've scouted as opposed to a wanderer.
