Well the sun had gone down on the last day and we had drank way too many beers so we decided that we had to find the closest bar. Wouldnt you know it we had a bar within walking distance. It is pretty cool to be 13 miles out on the lake and you still have a place to go and get some food and a couple drinks.

The whole trip the guys were giving me crap that my wife had castrated me because I brought her pink duffel bag up there but after a few drinks I had to prove to them that I still had one left down there.

There you go tha4 I hope that was enough pics for you. I had a great time and would say that if you have never gone up there ice fishing give it a try it is a good winter get away that doesnt cost an arm and a leg.

we were on the south southwest side. We went out of zippel bay it was a 25 minute drive on the ice to get to the sleeper we were about 13 miles out.

very cool! Thanks for sharing the the pix! that looks like a ton of fun

nice work

Nice trip, eelpout?

They are also called burbot, lawyer, and eelpout. Either way they are pretty nasty really slimy fish. They are pretty much like a carp in my eyes. I have heard that if you fillet the tail and stop at the stomach it tastes a lot like cod. I have a hard time believing it though.

SEbuckhunter: Nice photos, looks like you had a great time, I have been up there many times it is blast! Glad you enjoyed our state and what we have to offer.

Eelpout (the poor mans lobster)!

That is awsome man congrats! I was up there this summer at Zipple bay and it was a great time alot of fish up there.
