Landowner/tenant question

IMG_1608.PNG My dad owns timber, he is getting up there in age as far as hunting goes. He does not get his L.O. Tag. I am over 21. My question is, can I rent his timber to get a L.O./tenant Tag for myself? I understand that trees/orchards can be considered a specialty crop but we have no plans to harvest. It is in a government timber program. Eventually this will be my timber anyway but for the time being just wondering if this is legal?

Not 100% sure but think you have to re register the parcel under your name - you can do this online along as you know your parcel number (Should be able to find it online at your County Assesors GIS Maps ) I think only one LOT can be used per parcel number, so if your dad is registered in the system for that parcel, you might have to call the DNR and redo it (only took me 5 minutes on the phone ), someone correct me if Im wrong it’s been a while .
