More deer after logging. One farm I logged it only so it would make hunting better- and it did. $ was down the list of importance. Just don't butcher it, get with forester, make sure you get bids, etc.
Lastly, I'd make sure you did aggressive TSI so you don't high-grade your timber and leave junk. Free up the good quality young to medium trees like oaks, etc.
 
First year we had the farm we had about 30 to 40 of are acres cut, but only Walnuts and oaks I beleive. It seemed like it made some of the timber a bit thicker, I think they left the tops of the trees, the real branchy parts .The same year we hunted It and saw an amazing amount of deer.
