I got pulled into the First Sergeant's office today and was "invited" to voluntarily extend my time as a recruiter here in Iowa. I long for the day when I put on camouflage and do "soldier stuff" again but a lack of volunteers to extend their stay in recruiting could bring about a mandatory 12 month INvoluntary extension. I figure I could head off that possibility by voluntarily extending for six months. Heck, I can put up with anything for six extra months. That would mean one more deer season even though I would probably have to donate some of the venison to someone that could eat the rest of it when I leave.
