Help Needed In Locating Boat Following River Rescue

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – Seven adults were rescued from the Missouri River late Thursday evening near Council Bluffs, but their boat remains missing.
The Omaha Fire Department answered the rescue call regarding a sinking boat at approximately 11:30 p.m. and rescuers were able to get the seven boaters to safety unharmed.
DNR conservation officer Brian Smith was contacted to help locate the boat, which was last seen floating down river, with about 4 feet of the bow exposed, 300 yards from the I-80 Missouri River bridge. After a search last evening and at daylight today, the boat is still missing.
The incident is under investigation and the boat needs to be retrieved from the river.
