Scotts First Deer - Bow

Thought I would e-mail you a shot for the web. On Nov. 15th, after seeing
this huge buck on 5 separate occasions I was rattling 2 smaller bucks with
no luck, I hung up my antlers only to see this buck at 40 yards and coming
straight for my stand. He was either responding to the rattling or he could
smell the scent I put out, either way he stopped for a whiff at 15 yards, I
shot, and he never new he was hit. I thought I had missed until I saw my
arrow in the ground. He walked another 10 yards and fell over, what great
luck. I was hunting in west central Iowa when luck landed on my shoulder. It
green scored at 163 5/8".

"Finally got a big one on the 27th. 80 yard shot with my muzzeloader, dropped him in his tracks. He's a big 8 point with a 7 inch kicker on G2 on one side, and a 3 inch kicker on the G3 on other side. What a tough season this year".

"Here's the story . . . we saw this buck a few times this year but he always
gave us the slip. Hunting on a late season muzzleloader tag with my bow on
Dec 29 I was surprised to see him behind a few other bucks I had been
recently watching using a afternoon feeding pattern. At 25 yards he almost
gave me the slip as well as he compulsively jumped nearly 10 feet in fear of
slight unknown noise . . . probably caused be a small bird. At twenty yards
he gave me a quartering away shot which hit him square in the shoulder
socket and angled forward through the front ribs and into the neck, he went
down on the spot. I just switched two week prior to using a Rocket
Steelheads which I obviously am very impressed with."
