I drew another nonres tag for your state this fall. This was my 5th trip in about a dozen years or so.
I hunt private ground in SW Iowa. Good friends have allowed me to have the run of the place on several good farms, as all they do is shotgun season!
I had the first full week of Nov. off work, so got up there fri nite of halloween weekend. Slept in the next am, set a pair of ladder stands up midday on saturday. Had action all week, from 4 different stand sites.
Killed this fat doe on my second evening out, 13yd shot, she ran out into the bean stubble 84 yds before she piled up.

Saw 4 bucks over 130" in my weeks hunt, which I wouldn't see here in Mo, where I hunt at home.
This buck came by on my next to the last day of my hunt, at 330 in the afternoon. He was trolling along the downwind side of a brushy, timbered draw. He crossed in front of my stand at about 6 yds, but I let him get on past, for a 16-18yd shot. He ran 30yds behind me, then piled up down in the ditch from heck at about 20yds!!! Gotta love Magnus broadheads!!!
