More Nebraska Boater Safety Courses Available

Five boater safety home-study courses have been added to the list of available classes, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
Participants must register by the deadline to receive home-study materials, then attend a class to review and take a test.

The classes are:

March 27 Hastings Police Department, 317 S. Burlington, 9 a.m.-noon, register by March 13.

March 27 Kearney, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission District VI office, 1617 1st Ave., 2-5 p.m., register by March 13.

April 21 Hastings, police department, 317 S. Burlington, Room 317, 6-9 p.m., register by April 7.

May 27 Thedford, Upper Loup Natural Resources District, 39252 Nebraska Highway 2, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., register by May 17.

June 17 Kearney, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission District VI office, 1617 1st Ave., 6-9 p.m., register by June 3.

Contact Daryl Teter at (308) 754-7829 to sign up for the above classes in Hastings and Kearney and contact the Upper Loup NRD at (308) 645-2250 to register for the Thedford class.

Anyone ages 14 through 17 who operates a motorboat or personal watercraft in Nebraska must have successfully completed the Nebraska boating safety course. They also must be in possession of a course certificate when operating the boat.
