Thompson/Center Supports New Educational Muzzleloading DVD

ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE -Thompson/Center Arms Company, Inc., a Smith & Wesson company, is pleased to announce their support of a soon to be released educational DVD produced by the National Rifle Association (NRA) entitled "Taking the Mystery Out of Muzzleloading." The new instructional video is a valuable tool designed to introduce and further educate consumers and instructors on the fundamentals of muzzleloading and its allure.

"Throughout the development of the DVD, we had two distinct goals in mind," said Bill Poole, Director, NRA Education and Training Division. "First, we wanted to provide retailers and dealers with a recruitment tool designed to expose both hunters and shooters to the sport of muzzleloading. Our second goal was to supply instructors with an enriched tool to use in training courses across the nation. With the availability of this DVD, we now have another opportunity to inform people who otherwise might not be aware of the many activities that can be accomplished with a muzzleloader."

Featuring segments on both the traditional and modern in-line muzzleloaders, the new DVD helps to answer questions frequently asked by new shooters entering the sport while also providing black powder enthusiasts with helpful tips once they are in the field. The DVD covers such topics as the history of black powder, identifying the different types of muzzleloaders, shooting fundamentals, loading options, safety and more. The end result is an informative piece for use in the home or in the classroom.

"Thompson/Center is committed to supporting the NRA and those initiatives which benefit youth and beginners alike," said Tom Kelly, Vice President of Marketing for Smith & Wesson and Thompson/Center Arms. "With the ever changing technologies and features in muzzleloading, we agree that this DVD is a perfect way to help new hunters and shooters get more involved. Our commitment to the NRA and their youth and education projects remains steadfast and we're proud to support this new release."

The NRA plans to distribute the DVD to all sponsors and will also make it available to NRA/NMLRA instructors. For more information regarding availability and pricing on the new DVD, please contact Kerrin Brinkman at [email protected].
