NW Nebraska Turkey Help

Hey Guys I was wondering if any one has any advise of public land in NW Nebraska?? We have been looking into heading to Dawes county for a turkey hunt and wondering if any one has been out that way and had any luck?

I am also thinking about bowhunting NW Nebraska as well. Likely that March 31st weekend. Completely unfamiliar, just figured I would drive around and hunt public ground and talk to locals. Any help would also be appreciated.

Look up the Nebraska National Forest. It is actually three seperate areas that totals over 200,000 acres. I have deer hunted close to the unit by Halsey and there were some turkeys in that area. I think the Pine Ridge unit in the NW corner is mostly timber and has a pretty good turkey population.
