Tonight I had a nice buck come in, and he was only 12 yards away. He was a 16-17" wide eight point with short tines it was hard but I let him go. He wound up coming directly below my stand and as he was browsing I noticed that his right antler was freely moving when he moved his head. Apparently it is broken right above his skull and is only being held on by the skin surrounding the antler. I have found 3 or 4 sheds that have had a significant amount of skull attached to the shed I guess this is how it happens, he appeared healthy and should survive I just wonder if that antler will be non-typical next year?
