open sights or scope

what do you shot gun hunters have on your slug barrel do you have open rifle sights or a scope....is it a personal prefence on what to get??

Depends on your terrain, stand or drive/stalking.
I have 2 barrels one open sights for close in deer drives/stalking fast action and a long range scoped barrel. I personally prefer a scope because I use the long range slugs and I can zoom in and check the rack or confirm a doe as I ready for shot. I like to sit in tree stand or on high point over looking travel routes ,hunt in deer safety zones and escape routes while everyone else pushes them around.

when i think of deer hunting im thinking sitting in tree stand or by a big tree.thats probabily how ill be doing it..thinking on looking into getting me something like a ladderstand..do these work good sturdy??

a ladder stand is a good one to get started on, and pretty easy to set up by yourself.
if you are just stand hunting, either will work, but you might like a scope a bit more

Alan,

Since it is impossible for the human eye to focus on 3 things at once (rear sight, front sight and target) most hunters who are serious about shot placement opt to use a scope.
