ph tester?

Anyone ever use the biologic ph tester they sell in Cabela's and Bass Pro. It looks handy but I wasn't sure how accurate it would be.

I have heard nothing but bad things about them. They aren't accurate and the read out varies every time you put it in the ground. I wish it worked, it would be more convenient than running a soil sample to the coop every year...

agree they're JUNK. I have one and sent my sample out to meter read 6.5 on an average of 5 spots and I also sent the same 5 spots to Biologic and it came back at 4.6.

This site contains some information on how to send a sample in to Iowa State. They only charge $4 for pH testing.

Right, that is for the "Regular series" of tests. pH (lime recommendation) is only $4
