Pheasant Hunting

I am going to the in-laws here this weekend in Adair County and maybe thinking of doing some pheasant hunting. What are the regulations for steel shot? Is it needed on private and public, or even at all? I was thinking about walking around on a WMA and didn't know what to bring, I couldn't find anything in the regs about it. Thanks!

Public land you have to use steel shot. Private and you can use lead or steel.

Really? Been so long since I pheasant hunted public that I'm not up on the regs. Is this due to most public having wetlands? How long has this been in effect?

I was just reading the regs and I found that there are just certain counties and areas where non-toxic shot is required. It is on page 16 if anyone is interested.
