it will be my birthday and i am planning on getting some GOOD raingear. any suggestions on some stuff that is quiet, lightweight, and worthwhile?

Actually, I have the Browning Hydrofleece feather weight stuff standard and the supprescent versions. My buddy has the Cabelas MT050 stuff and it is packable. If you are looking for a deal on the hydrofleece stuff.....try out DNRSPORTS

Helly Hanson has some great rain gear, I own top and bottems and but I couldn't tell what kind of name it is but its durable quiet and 100% water proof. Its super light and really compacts.

I've got the set they sell on Natural gear. Pretty quiet & keeps me dry. Never tried on the Cabelas but always near the top of the list when people post this question.
