Rape Question

I am new to planting food plots and have a question. We planted some rape this spring and I'm wondering if it's okay to mow it. If so, when is a good time, or does it matter?

Don't mow it close but you can clip it to keep it from going to seed. Try planting it in mid July next year and you can avoid the need to clip it...

LOL! Yeah I thought about that after I posted it. I noticed a lot of people looked at the post, but didn't reply. I thought my title may have made them a little curious.
