Rattling is smoking hot right now

Since Friday I've rattled up quite a few bucks. Seems that about 80% of them just charge in to suddenly "appear" in a blur while the rest sneak in a few minutes afterwards. I'm also having PHENOMENAL success blind grunting bucks in as well. 95% of the bucks I see that are just cruising I am able to grunt in if they can hear me. Also having wonderfull success grunting does in, unfortunately they don't get close enough for shots!

Anyone else having good encounters wtih rattling and grunting?

I'm having about the opposite of you muddy. With the exception of grunting in deer. I have yet to rattle in a buck, blindly or ones in sight. Most of the bucks that I have seen are cruising or tending and have no interest in me.

I'm glad that you were able to score with the use of the antlers.

Thanks for the update Muddy, I look forward to getting out this weekend and cracking some horns together. I only hope I have as much success as you did....

I went out this morning. Got in the stand and had the Big 8 follow a trail but didnt come in. And then i broke out the horns. About 30 sec after i got into it a nice 5 came charging out. He wanted to fight. Then about 30 min later i rattled again and had a doe come in. About a min after she came a buck was behind her. So the rut is really kicking in and the bucks are responding to the Rattling. Ill be back out after i get back from my Job meeting

Tried some light rattling and grunting on Sat and Sun this weeek. Shot a doe on Sat and had one buck come in to the rattling on Sun but walked around me. The 2 other bucks I saw on Sun just ran by me, so don't know if they came into the rattling or not. Hopefully this weekend will still be good for some rattling.

Last weekend i was out and had a nice size doe come out of the creek bottom behind me and a ok size 8 point followed her they started walking away and i tried grunting but the buck didnt stop so i gave him a short rattle and he came right back over and bedded down 20 yards away from my stand it was an amazing experience. Rut is in full swing for sure.

Some of the same here muddy, I rattled in the one I took on Monday and was having lots of bucks shot up during or just after rattling sessions for the last week. One of them came in on two different nights with the hair on his back (midback down to his arse) standing straight up, boy was he one fired up buck. Was really fun and some of the best rattling and grunting luck I have had.

I've been rattling the past couple of weekends about every half hour and have yet to rattle in buck. Maybe things will be different tomorrow since the rut is closer.
