Reward Ad

Has anyone ever tried putting a reward ad in your local newspaper to flush out thieves of deer stands etc? Did the stealing stop or do you think this would cause more harm than good?

I would think most the low lifes doing this stuff probably aren't taking the time to read the paper. Now it might create a buzz from the folks that do and then word would get around. Just my thoughts.

You would be better served by talking to all the surrounding landowners. Let them know you have a tresspassing and theft problem. You may also gain some valuable information just by talking to your neighbors. Once your neighbors know there is a problem with theft in the area; they become much more concerned with who they let on to their own properties. They will also be more observant of strange vehicles parked in the area.
