Sorry to hear of your condition. Nice set-up, I have never been much of a rifle guy since most of my hunting is done in Iowa.
I did buy a new savage 30.06 this year, it seemed to be a great all around rifle to me.
My 15yr old son loves shooting and old military rifle, I think he likes the M1 Carbine the best so far.

Maybe you guys should put a sniper garand together. I like 30-06 cause there will be plenty of it around when the grid finally goes down. Sooner than later me thinks. Is ok tho,,,,,,,,,,,,, don't need it or the dumb asses behind it..............ck

A few years ago I would have laughed at that but these days you never know.
