Send a message to these legislators about putting a session delay on the INRC's traditional ammo ban for dove hunting. The Administrative Rules Review Committee meets tomorrw and could effectively remove the ban until the legislature could rule on it next session.

This is a legislative issue and not one to be made by the Natural Resources Committee.

Please ask them to place a session delay on banning traditonal ammunition for dove hunting.

Traditional Ammuntion Ban - Defeated for now

Thank you to all who sent emails to the Committee members. This mornings Administrative Rules Reveiw Committee voted 9-1 to delay the NRC's traditional ammunition ban for dove hunting.

This is great news, however, we have to now battle this again during the coming legislative session. Please keep the letters coming to your State Senator and State Rep to let them know that you want the keep the hunting traditions in Iowa safe from anti-hunting environmentalists.

It's lead for now, of course the DM Register has suddenly become wildlife experts by the sound of their editorial today. Maybe they should ask the Farm Bureau about lead for dove hunting.

For anyone interested, Iowa Public Radio had Dick Dearden and Liz Garst on the radio today discussing lead shot. Pretty interesting conversation. At the end Dick stated that he believes Iowa will not adopt the lead shot ban when it goes before the legislature next year.
