This bill would legalize baiting of any kind (including mineral) on private property.

We need some COMMON SENSE in some laws here. Minerals (and yes, some of the controversy on the Franz buck & whether there could have been old mineral there or not).... could easily be the one exception in "baiting". Because: it's really not baiting for hunting reasons. It's pretty much the only thing people could, would and do put out for deer to attract & help with health BUT does not impact HUNTING by "baiting" them. It's essentially not bait during hunting season. Use stops in September - not a bait past then & put out for totally different reasons. A pile of corn, apples or feeders all deer season - that's TOTALLY DIFFERENT and the goals & reasoning for it being put out is 100% different.
How about, instead of opening the gates wide open - which would be a disaster..... We simply make one exemption for MINERAL - which is not used for a bait for hunting. It does not have to be "all or nothing". Opening the floodgates for corn pilers in Iowa would be a disaster. I saw it done in Michigan & other states- it's a nightmare and the dynamics & tactics of hunting would be transformed instantly & vastly. Stop this madness.
