Solid and liquid fuel hand warmers

I have a lighter fluid type hand warmer. (got it in a box of black powder pistols and equipment for $20.00)
Never used it. I assume it will put off a considerable smell. So I'm wondering about the solid fuel stick types ice fishermen use.

Don't know about solid fuel sticks? I use "HotHands" They work great and have no smell that I can tell of. The deer never seem to notice anyway?

the hand warmers with the solid fuel sticks work great, but they do put out a chemical type smell. i use them in the late muzzleloader season when a close up shot isn't nearly as important. of course the past few years it hasn't been cold enough to need them really. hopefully this year proves different.
