Took my youngest out Saturday afternoon. Didn't start out the best, as I forgot the mosquito repellant, never had such a mosquito problem in Iowa before, it was so bad we almost left. Mitch was steadfast and wanted to stick it out, so after a few hours and a careful stalk, he made a perfect 80 yard heart shot on this young buck. The deer ran about 50 yards before falling over dead. Then the excitement and happiness took over. I've said it before, and hope to say it again, "there is nothing better than being with your kids when they harvest a deer"! The only down side is, now we are done for awhile. To top the weekend off, Mitch scored his first touchdown on Sunday, overall can't ask for a better weekend.
