I've coyote hunted for a fairly long time in Iowa. I get the occasional coyote, maybe every 15 sets. But my first day coyote hunting here in South Dakota I called one in on the second setup.

This was off public ground. Starting tomorrow we get to start hunting the private ground we have permission for.
 
Congrats and good job.

My first year shooting coyotes and I've killed two for sure, another one is questionable. I didn't find it but doubt it survived the .243.

I'm looking forward to focusing on them after late ML season.

I take it you are calling them. Mouth call? E-caller?
 
This setup was all mouth calls. I only really use my electronic call for howling because I don't like the sounds of the distress calls on it. I also use a .243, dropped him at 250 yards.
