Say with good weather, and if all tag holders go hunting how many deer do you think will get put down state wide on 12-21 to 12-23.I khow the harvest #s are down like 35,000 if what I have been reading is correct,just wondering what you guys are thinking.I hope they open the bow tags up for the late Jan.season so I don't have so much tag soup to can this year.I currently have a late muzzy tag to focus on,good luck to all still out!
My guess on my ? is 300-400 but then what do I know.
 
Shane and I went hunting today to the good spot at his families, call it the "honey hole of hunting". I was successful. About 2pm today I was in the tree stand and this little deer came funning full boar right by me from the right. Sleeting, water all over my glasses and my scope. Shot about 30 yards and missed somehow, then another shot

at 10 yards, direct hit, flew the deer up against the tree litterly wrapping it around the tree and landing on the other side. Deer didn't move. I thought more were comming so I didn't go down to check it. Thought it was a little doe, turns out it was a button buck... When I field dressed it the shot blew the heart in half and severed the throat completely.

We went to Lunch, got warm and went back out. Shane got this little yearling doe. One shot to the spine and she dropped right against a tree.

Good job! I wish I could see a deer, in my area I think they caught some sort of illness and went and died somewhere. This late season has been really frustrating!
 
Any State-wide statistics yet on how many deer were taken during the special season?

I butchered my deer on Wednesday. Field Dressed the Button Buck weighted 50lbs. I got 20lbs of meat out of it total. 10lbs of Steak, and 10lbs of burger.

they were, I braved the weather and it made this year sucessful. Hopefully I will get to go out on dep landowner tags in January.
