Spent Saturday night and Sunday morning hunting south of Diagonal. Didn't see or hear any birds and but saw plenty of deer, including a couple of bucks chasing does. I had to head home but my buddy kept hunting and went to a place we'd had luck last spring. Saw a flock of about 15 working a field on the south side of some timber. He worked his way through the timber and set up just in time as they moved into the woods. He picked out a hen and got her, and the rest of the birds just stood there ... we could easily have doubled had I been able to stick around ... needless to say we're heading back there this weekend.
