Sugar Beets in South Central Iowa

Does anyone know the time by which sugar beets could be planted in south central iowa. I have the ground worked up and didn't know ther best time to plant them. I even asked a couple local seed dealers and they couldn't tell me. And as far as round-up, do I spray the ground to kill all the grass and plant or just put it in the ground and cultipack it?

Dido's on reading Dbltree's thread, I'm going to guess you may be too late and probably better waiting a bit and planting Radishes or turnips later & saving that seed for next year. his thread will tell you though
