NEWS: Bow hunters and archery shooters here in Southwest
Iowa are starting a 3-D Club.

We held the first meeting on Friday March 27th. There were 20 interested individuals at this meeting and fifteen other’s who call in with their names & phone numbers but were unable to make that first meeting.

Those in attendance were very excited about staring a club. Some of them have 3-D experience but many are just bowhunters looking to sharpen their shooting skills in a variety of shooting situations.

We have talked with some of the Page County Conservation Commission members and it appears they will let us set up an outdoor range at Ross Park here in Page County. We have to go through the formal requested from the board and we are on the agenda for the April 21st meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Page County Court House. If you would like please plan to attend this meeting.

We will be shooting both at an outdoor range and an indoor range here in Clarinda, IA. There is also the possibility of an indoor range in Bedford, IA. We do have several back up plans should the Ross Park plan fall though for some unforeseen reason.

Several members are working on getting quotes for targets and Ty Green is handling the insurance quotes. We have several target sponsors already and will be contacting other possible sponsors if we have enough members join the club so we can get the insurance.

The future of this club hinges on dedicated members and the funding for insurance. We hope that we can count on your support.

The next meeting will held:

Tuesday April 21st ~ 6:30 p.m.
B & D Outdoors
103 East Main Street
Clarinda, IA.
Rob Marsh
712-542-6195

Meeting Agenda

Randy Taylor IBA President will address the club members and answer questions about the Iowa Bowhunters Association.

Officers will be nominated and voted on, shoot dates will be set, questions & answers will be addressed, the name of the club will be decided, and club membership dues will be discussed and purchased that evening.

We may very well have 40-45 individuals at this next meeting. So,if you live in Southwest Iowa and like to shoot bow; please join other bow shooters in promoting bow hunting and archery shooting in this corner of the state.

Southwest Iowa Bowhunters Club

It appears that we have finally managed to start a 3-D club here in Southwest Iowa.

The club has secured permission to hold out door shoots at Ross Park from the Page County Conservation board.

During inclement weather shoots will be held at indoors at B & D Outdoors.

After two meetings it appears that there are approximately thirty members at this time and likely 15-20 more planning to join soon.

Officers and board members for the club have been elected, and committees were chosen.

The next meeting to start tying things up and getting started is May 6th at B & D Outdoors in Clarinda, IA.

If you live in Southwest Iowa and would like to join us please send me a PM and I will get you on the email list.

The Southwest Iowa Bowhunters want to thank IBA President Randy Taylor for attending the last meeting and passing on some very helpful information about holding shoots, and organizing a club. :way:
