Tag/transportation Question

Hi Iowa Experts, I have a tag and transportation question. I shot a buck last weekend and now want to take the meat in for HUSH, but also want to hold onto the head or rack as I'm going to do some sort of antler mount from the deer. I know I need to have a tag on hand when arriving at the locker, but don't I also need to have the tag with the antlers/head? If anyone knows what the ruling is on this I'd sure appreciate the help.

Have you reported your deer?If you have done that you put the transportation tag on the meat to take to the locker....then put the harvest report tag on the antlers.

Ahh thanks, I thought that was the case, but for some darn reason I thought they needed to be together!

What is the law do you tag the antler or a leg?

In the hunting regulations it say you MUST (capital letters) put the tag on the antler.

theres two pieces of the tag, one on the antler one on the leg. they need to see one of the numbers on one of the tags but i cant remember which number he needed when i dropped off my hush deer. i think its the harvest number but i dont remember.
