We went a sighted in his muzzleloader last weekend, getting ready for Late season. When I went to clean it last night I found that there was a ringed grove inside the barrel about 4.5" from the end of the barrel. The outside of the barrel has a bulge in the same spot. It's a CVA Hunterbolt in the .45 cal. Now I have to find another one before this weekend. I told him that he couldn't shotgun hunt until he is 15 and that he can hunt late season muzzy until then. Well he didn't get one last year and was looking forward to this year. You should have seen the look in his eyes when I told him something was wrong with his gun. We didn't notice anything when we shot it and he is only shooting 100 grains worth of pellets. He was grouping great with it. I am sending it in to CVA today but I doubt I have it back before late anterless. Anyone know where a guy could get a .45 cal before this weekend? Cheap!!

I was in at Dunhams this weekend and they had some Optima's there for a good price. They had the gun with a starter kit. Not sure if they were .45 or not.

CVA's might be cheap but you get what you pay for. I had and old squirrel rifle 32 cal, it had so stiff a trigger that you would pull it off target trying to pull it. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I wonder what happened to cause it to blow the barrel out?
