If the technology is out- absolutely doesn’t mean we need to legalize it and we shouldn’t. U get caught with a thermal sight on your bow- should absolutely be a no go. Same as night vision on your bow. Or a spot light mounted on it. It’s not “a few might violate” type of example. It’s a “ya, they have this on there for the sole reason of shooting after dark” period. Insanity.
Night vision & spot lights- banned for very valid reasons. U get pulled over doing it in deer season - no excuse- ur getting a ticket. Thermal should absolutely be in same class as NV during deer season. & yes, CO’s are being overwhelmed with poaching calls & are pulling dudes over they know are poaching but they can’t nail them unless they find the dead body of the deer. Poachers are exploiting this big time. & most folks likely have no clue how much it goes on and how rapidly it’s growing. We need to nip this in the butt. U wanna use thermals & NV- no problem- about 8 months to do it. Want to shoot coyotes & coons during deer season - fine…. Like we’ve done for decades (history of hunting until about 10 years ago) … Can use regular scope, traps, etc.
