Thompson/Center weathershield???

I am looking into getting a new muzzleloader. Does anyone have any info on the weather shield coating on the TC's. I already have a .45 stainless knight and was wondering how the coating compairs to a stainless barrel. Is it just on the outside of the barrel? Does it protect the bore as well? Will it wear off? etc. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have the weather shield on my Triumph and is works great, I'm thinking that it isn't on the inside of the barrel but don't hold me to that. I know the coating is on there real well, I've tried rubbing hard on it and using my finger nail on it and it shows no signs of wearing.
