Went bow hunting last weekend and checked the cameras. Was shocked to say the least when I came across this picture. Taken june 27. Near Herman Missouri. 1 mile south of I-70 between columbia and st. Louis. I knew we had black bears in the lower portion of the state but didn't think there were any this far north.

Pretty cool hunted pigs In SE MO once I remember driving through Herman.

We reported the sighting to the local conservation agent. They were aware of multiple sightings in the area. Apparently there is one bear with a collar and another with ear tags. He thinks this bear is a 2 yr old male. Said it should be heading back south to look for females. He said it has been in the area all summer. Pretty neat to see!
