Last night as I was leaving school, about 2 blocks away I noticed a truck pulled off the side of the road and my wife said, "There's two deer fighting!" We stopped and watch to bucks on the South East side of Des Moines go at it for about 10 min. Man I wish I had the video camera. The smaller buck, 110", finally got the upper edge and rolled the bigger deer, 120" with a long drop tine. As the deer got up the smaller buck nailed him in the side and rolled him again. They both trotted to a little grove right beside the road. They went at it again for a couple seconds and then Mr.Droptine started walking away with a limp and huffing pretty hard. They were trying to kill each other! This is the first fight that I've ever seen. Things are heating up! The whole time a doe was watching the two go at it for her.
