new to the whole video hunt thing and i was wondering if there was a free program out there that i could download that i could shorten the video and also edit out a bit of the sound in a spot. got a little vulgar. the video will by no means be for tv but i would still like to fix a few things so i could least show it

Do you have a PC or Mac? Macs come with imovie already installed....some PCs have video software installed already. I guess you would know though if it was already on there....

There are some pretty cheap video editing software programs at best buy.... < $100....easy to use, can do quite a bit with.

i found pinnacle 16 and got the video cut a bit shorter like i wanted but can't figure out to edit the "f"bob i dropped

I've only used the iMovie but, I can tell you to make sure you get all of the video clipping done first regardless of what program you use. Then do the audio. Here is a link that should help.

In simple terms you need to get an audio sound like a beep and drop it on the timeline lined up on the time where the F-bomb is. I'm guessing you will be putting it on AV Track 2. Here's a place you can download free sounds. http://www.soundjay.com/beep-sounds-1.html

If you edit the video after doing this it will put the beep in a different location on the timeline and the f-bomb will reappear.
