Warmer weather...what to do?

Tomo

Hi all,

I have all of next week off but can move it around if I need to. I see the forecast calls for 65 degrees on Tuesday the 7th and Wednesday the 8th. Not only that it is supposed to be 60's around those dates. Should I move my vacation or will it not matter?

Thanks,
Tomo

I've always had good luck those dates REGAREDLESS of the weather. Mornings and evenings will be gold, as will any sets you have near water. Good luck, shoot a pig!

Enjoy the weekend and be happy you won't be shivering???

I agree, I don't think it will be to warm to screw up this weekend... Game time baby!

My thoughts exactly!

It's not going to be warm enough to keep the bucks from running! Next weeks dates are the best dates to be in a tree!

I hear ya Tomo! Mid 50s to lower 60s with some scattered rain most days here in northern WV next week. I'm on vacation all week and plan to hunt hard despite whatever the weather throws at me.

Count your blessings with those temps. We're looking at 70's for our trip out to Western Kansas...

I have vacation next week also. My concern is the amount of pressure I will be putting on my south wind stands. My best ones are set for north, west, or northwest.

I have the week off and plan to hunt everyday if necessary warm temperature or not. If I tag my buck, I will go catch some more Sauger.

KPM - Count me in for the saugers. Playing in the Sioux City Rockestra tonight, you ought to check it out if you can. Bring the kids.

I got the exact same problem bowman. seems like i get bit by the weather every year during vacation. seriously considering moving the hanger and sticks if i spot a hog where i can put it in a more oppurtune location. that ladder stand is a pain, i'm leavin' it. looks like i'll be doing a little more sneakin and creepin than i planned. gotta stay flexable.

[/ QUOTE ] I have the exact same problem. And the property that I hunt on still has all of their corn in. Hopefully with the warm weather he will get it picked.

Ugh, updated weather forecast calls for upper 60's to mid 70's for most of the week. Gonna be tough seeing much of anyting, especially with the full moon.

I am still plan on taking this week off and hunt the mornings and fish Sauger the rest of the day. I did have a spindly 130 at 6yds this am and that is it. I have not seen a deer in the afternoons for the last 4 days.

Gersdorf,
I have the same problem with corn still in.Went for a quick drive sat.when I took a lunch break everybody still had there corn in.Hpe they get it out this week since the weather is suppose to get damp by the weekend.Still taking this time off this week, have seen some of the biggest buck on those mid-seventy days during late mornings and early afternoons looking for the hot ladies.Just means staying in the stand later and getting back in earlier!

Bumping vacation?

The only problem with this is the bucks could start locking down with the does by next week! I'm going to break out the camo tanktop and get out there!

I saw a VERY mature buck bedded down with two does in the middle of a huge combined soybean field yesterday at noon, about 400 yards off the highway. Don't know if he was "locked down" or just sharing an unapproachable spot.

Vacation starts Wednesday for me, I can't wait! I'll be hunting in whatever weather is thrown my way!
