Weeds need a trim

I mowed my planting on June 1st, the weeds are getting big again. My question is if I mow now will the grain heads (rye, see photo in previous post, and side oats)have viable seeds? Or should I wait until the grain looks ripe then mow? I'd like the grains to reseed, but I can't stand the look of the weeds.

Not to rub it in, but we've had so much rain I can't get the burn pile burnt and the weeds are growning, well, like weeds.

Any grains that you cut before they mature are not going to produce more seed...if you wait until they mature the rye at least should resprout, from the seed heads you shatter during mowing...especially with alllll that rain your getting (and won't share!!)
