What are the deer eating????

My son shot a doe a week ago Sunday evening...he field dressed it in the yard, as we often do, leaving the gut pile behind. One week later the critters had consumed the "goodies", but apparently no squirrels joined the buffet line...as this was what was left a week later.

I am hoping for an oak forest right there.

My cameras have been pretty dead that past 2 weeks. Figured the deer were in timber eating acorns.

My guess would be primarily acorns and then maybe corn & I’m seeing good activity in a small clover plot that sits in low ground & is pretty green.

They are pounding apples and corn, seen some out cleaning up soybeans after harvest.

Friend of mine has been driving around "scanning fields" at night with a thermal monocular and fields are empty all deer on the ridges eating acorns!!

Acorns are big this year and very abundant! Some look Walnut size
