What are the legalities of this situation?

I have seen on videos guys using mineral licks on their properties in the off season. I have been thinking about using that Vita-Rack 26 by HS.

If I was to put it out this weekend and keep refreshing when needed, I would need to quit refreshing it 10 days prior to the season.

Is that correct?
I want to keep deer in the area and was wondering if this will help. I also want to use this as a lure to set a camera up over the site to see what is moving in the area.

I want to make sure I do everything legally so any help is appreciated.

There is no legal time (last "freshening") or distance restrictions on hunting around a mineral lick. It is a judgement call by the CO as to whether you have an advantage due to minerals being in the soil. A soil test will find trace minerals for quite some time.

All that being said, the peak of mineral lick usage is spring/summer, tapering off into fall: times you are not going to be hunting anyway.

I'd try to place your mineral lick somewhere that you aren't going to hunt. Even a trail leading to it might be suspect. Definitely don't hang a stand within 50 yards of it.

i usually put my licks far away from anywhere that i hunt. gotta get those minerals for those big racks, and i always get some great pictures.

Well I seen alot of guys setting out mineral licks, Quite a few are using the lucky buck . I don't know if it works or not but then I haven't seen any pics yet either.

There are tons of commercial mineral supplements which were discussed in the mineral lick thread. Most prefer to buy bulk ingrediants from the local farm supply store and mix their own. It is more economical and better balanced for deer.

A cheap bag of trace mineral from the local farm store is a great attractant for trail cam purposes. Mix it in with the dirt and you'll have deer digging a crater there for quite some time.

I received a bag from a friend and am using it in one established site. I haven't checked it yet but I would imagine the are hammering it. There is plenty of salt in it. Heck, I almost tried some it smelled so good...
