Good decision to pass IMO. Too much can go wrong on a shot like that with an alert whitetail especially, although those shots are taken all of the time on antelope, mule deer, and elk out west. A mature whitetail is the hardest animal to hunt IMO and this is even proven when hunting them out of a ground blind and their reluctance to accept an unbrushed in blind, where as Double Bull admits that the other above animals I posted could care less about the blind. A whitetails senses are just too good IMO to take 50 plus yd shots at with a bow.
