Who has the best switchgrass?

Looking to buy switchgrass seed and was eyeing grandpa rays switchgrass mix..... Anyone use grandpa rays switchgrass by chance?

Found it. Looks like a great blend. Probably priced at a good mark up. Which- if u doing a smaller amount of acres- not a big deal. If doing a larger amount- better buying at bulk. The actual switch blends are great. A lot of cases I do like blends so u do fine on most soil types. Another one to add to the mix if anyone wants to goof off is Kanlow. One of my best stands is Kanlow. & I probably have 15 varieties in different situations over the years. All but a few did fine. Lot of advantages to germination of RC Big rock which Rob on here carries.

Variety!!! We have been using a mix of sunburst, cave in rock, and RC big rock. Big rock establishes like a lawn grass in no time flat, which helps get the stand started with less weed pressure while the others might take a season to stratify seeds/set roots. We've had stands 6'+ in the FIRST fall in the last couple years with this method. Cave in rock typically stands up well through heavy winters. Sunburst is local here, we prefer to stick to as many local ecotypes as we can (you wont here me recommend Miscanthus for example). Another we have been testing the last year or two is sundance, seems to have even a little better winter standability than even cave in rock.

VARIETY!

Same mix I have been using. Very happy with it.

Been pretty happy with Real World to be honest. I know its supposedly just Alamo, but the winter standability (even with snow) is pretty dang good.

The new improved RC varieties are quick out of the ground and unless you want a monoculture, don't require weed control when late spring / early summer planted.

I'm only on second year for those, so standability isn't tested too much yet..
