I have to tell ya, I am so friggin happy today! This entire 4th season has been something else.
We got up at 4:30 this morning, I wanted to be in the woods ASAP. I set up the ground blind about 6am & started calling w/ some soft yelps & clucks. We heard a gobbler far off & about 1/2 hour later we heard him again but a lot closer. I'm 1/2 falling asleep & thinking he lost interest. Then we hear a high pitched "urp", I looked up & there he is just standing there. She got her 20 guage ready, aimed carefuly & boom! She dropped that bird in it's tracks at 27 yards. I was so happy for her that I had goosebumps! (It's been my mission for her to get a bird when she hunts w/ me).
The turkey is 22#, 10" beard, 3/4" spurs. Here's a pic.
